The week is going to bring a lot of interesting events, which could prove to be a market movers on the markets:
Bank of Canada is going to announce its monetary policy decision. Consensus see the rates to be kept on hold, however the outlook for Canada is deteriorating, and with weak oil price, BoC may decide to surprise the market.
ECB is announcing its decision on Thursday. It’s unlikely that ECB will change asset purchase target or interest rates, however the dovish stance should be maintained. Mario Draghi’s press conference could prove to be interesting.
Data-wise the inflation releases from UK (Tuesday) and US (Wednesday) look very interesting. The publications could prove to be relevant from monetary policy point of view.
China is publishing its GDP data for Q4 2015. Data will be watched closely as they may signal any further deterioration in economic growth.
